Performing Arts

Performing Arts Ministry has become an essential thread in the fabric of what makes Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd so unique and valuable. The drama, music and dance that comes from our ministry provides church members and non-members from the surrounding communities opportunities to enjoy the comradery and artistic satisfaction of being involved in theater.

All events are freewill offering.
Contact Tor Johnson, Director of Performing Arts, for more information on any of the events listed here.

Lenten Drama

The Lenten Drama will take place on April 9, 11 and 12 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary. We’re calling it “Lenten Monologues”. It is a series of monologues from characters who encountered Jesus during his last days on earth. All are welcome.

The Good Shepherd Follies

The Good Shepherd Follies offer an evening of musical theater songs, opera arias and several other genres of music for your listening pleasure. We invite you to their next performance on May 4. Come and enjoy fine dining on coffee and cookies in a candle lit atmosphere that would make Chanhassen envious.

Summer Musical Theater Camp

This is our 9th summer of Musical theater camp. We’ve performed hundreds of songs from all genres during that time. This summer we’re doing a retrospective of those camps, as I have chosen some of our favorite songs, ranging from old Broadway musicals to Disney films and modern day pop songs. Come join the fun! The dates for the 2019 camps are June 17-27 for kids going into 1st grade through kids going into 4th grade; and July 8-8 for kids going into 4th grade through kids going into 8th grade.  Learn more!
