Our Stewardship Campaign began on Sunday, October 11. As good stewards, we are called to share and serve with all our gifts.  The Board of Stewardship invites you to celebrate the grace of giving by continuing to share your time, talents and treasures.  We truly experience the grace of giving when we invest passionately in living out our faith as individuals and as a community.

Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd has a strong heritage of giving and serving.  Remaining focused on our calling to help and serve others will help instill vibrancy and a sense of purpose for our community of faith.  We come together to listen, learn, nourish and renew in order to go back out and teach, help and serve. As individuals and as a community, we are strongest when we are serving and helping others.

The Board of Stewardship, the Council and the Boards ask you to recommit to invest your passion, time, talents and treasures to share and to serve.  We invite you to live out your faith and experience the grace of sharing the blessings you have been given.

By completing a Personal Covenant to Share form you are encouraged to explore and invest in your passions.  You are invited to commit your energy to areas such as life-long learning, worship and mission, and to share your specific talents in areas of ministry and service.

In addition to your regular financial pledge, please consider pledging additional financial resources to support specific ministries of your choice:

  • Within – making Good Shepherd a more welcoming place
  • Around - reaching out to the neighborhood, Serving with Appalachian People (SWAP), Lutheran Social Services Homeless Youth, and Families Moving Forward
  • Far Beyond – programs providing mission support to Ethiopia and Uruguay

Our stewardship campaign schedule:

  • Kick-off Sunday – October 11
  • Temple Talks and Children’s Messages – throughout October
  • Stewardship Lifelines – November 1
  • Celebration Sunday – November 8

Stewardship packets containing a Personal Covenant to Share form will be distributed in the narthex after services on October 18 and 25.  Your prayerful consideration of your commitment to fulfill the ministries of Good Shepherd is greatly appreciated.  Please take time to complete your Personal Covenant to Share form by Celebration Sunday, November 8th.

Call Committee Elected

At the congregational meeting on Sunday, August 16, 2009, the membership of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd voted unanimously to accept the Nominating Committee’s recommendation for the Call Committee. The Call Committee members are Rob Albright, Janet Dietrich, Linda Kerker, Dwight Larson, Andrea Norman, David Quello, and David Senness.  May our prayers be with them as they seek out a senior pastor for our congregation.

The congregational mission profile will be available for review once a chairperson is named for the call committee.  This tool will be vital in marketing our congregation to senior pastor candidates.
