The Golden Shepherds is a social fellowship for seniors, 55 plus. We meet once a month and alternate a lunch and an educational, musical or entertaining program at church with a day trip to an event or site in the community. We also support intergenerational events during the year.
We welcome anyone, all parties of any age, interested in engaging with Golden Shepherds! Please contact Karen Wilkinson for more information, or to suggest future Golden Shepherds events. To sign up for these events please stop at the Welcome Center or call the church office at 612-927-8849.
The Golden Shepherds will be going to the Landmark Center in St. Paul on Thursday, April 4, for a FREE 'Courtroom Concert' featuring the Plymouth Youth Choir, Phillip Shoultz, director. The concert is at 12:00 p.m. with doors open at 11:30. Seating is limited and is first-come, first-serve. It was recommended that we arrive by 11:15 to get into the wait line, (The Youth Choir performs choral pieces ranging from folk hymns and spirituals to contemporary pieces in a variety of languages.)
We have planned to have a tour guide join us on our bus to give us a tour of Lakewood Cemetery on May 2. Then on June 6, our program will be in Fellowship Hall. Author Doug Ohmann will share information from his books on Minnesota courthouses, schoolhouses, churches, etc. The first Thursday in July is the 4th, so we won't have a program in July.
Watch for more information!
