Connect as a Family
There are many ways for you to come together as a family at Good Shepherd.
Through worship: We invite you to experience the living Word of God through word and music and the arts on Sunday mornings. Childcare is provided throughout the morning; we do, however, strongly encourage parents and guardians to bring their children with them to worship. Click for more.
Through learning: Your family members will all hear the same theme, Bible texts and lessons during worship and learning sessions each Sunday. You can share the learning together and have rich discussions on the meaning of faith. Some families share teaching duties in confirmation or Sunday School. Join us on Sundays at 9:45 am and at other learning sessions throughout the week and learn together! Click for more.
Through reaching out: Service opportunities can be done together as a family. One family shares their experience serving together at Families Moving Forward, our ministry team for local homeless families below. Look at the Reach Out section for opportunities for your family to serve.
“Last Tuesday evening our family had a great time together, meeting new people, playing games, holding adorable babies, eating a delicious meal, with dessert, and just having fun. This all took place at church! We were working with Families Moving Forward. Our church hosts homeless families for a week as they are trying to get back on their feet. Every time we volunteer, it is a different experience, but each time we are glad for the experience. It is a great way for our whole family to help in some small way. Even John, who is three years old, is able to help with setting the tables and playing with the kids. Both Thomas and John love playing in the gym with the kids after dinner. Board games and sometimes helping with homework fill up the evening as well. There is something for everyone to do. Hope you too can enjoy an evening of helping out with Families Moving Forward.”

Through fellowship: Whether during the National Night Out celebration, a hayride, at the Advent celebration or just connecting over coffee, our families come together and share their faith journeys. Watch for upcoming events to connect with other families!
