What is Bread for the World?
Bread for the World is a collective Christian voice urging our nation’s decision-makers to end hunger at home and abroad.
By changing policies, programs, and conditions that allow hunger and poverty to persist, we provide help and opportunity at home and far beyond where we live.
We can end hunger in our time. But churches and charities can’t do it all. Our government must also do its part.
With the stroke of a pen, policies are made that redirect millions of dollars and affect millions of lives.

There are two ways you can fight hunger.
The first is to partner with the Good Shepherd Hunger Action Team. This does not require any attendance at meetings. When the time is ripe to move hunger legislation you will be asked to act. Your partnership action is to tweet, e-mail or make phone calls to your Congress persons in Washington, D.C. to support and move legislation to feed the hungry. You will receive an alert that NOW the time is ripe to tweet, e-mail or call your people in Washington, D.C. Contact information will be included in the alert.
The second is to be a partner with Bread for the World. There are no meetings. You will be placed on their email or mailing list to receive information about hunger issues. You will also be given opportunities for prayer and advocacy on behalf of very hungry people in the United States and around the world.
